Born Pretty Stamping Polish Review

I've tried lots of different stamping polishes over the last few years, the good, the bad and the ugly, so believe me when I say Born Pretty stamping polishes are absolutely awesome! These highly pigmented polishes come in a generous 15ml bottle, which if you're a regular stamper like me, makes these stamping polishes well worth the money.

When I first ordered these polishes with the view to sell them in our UK online nail art store, I had it clear in my mind exactly what it was that I expected from them. I wanted a polish that left a crisp, clear image every time, a polish that was true to the colour in the bottle when stamped and they definitely had to stamp over black.

I'm not overly effected by smells, and I've been the owner of some rather pungent stamping polishes, but as a distributor I was aware that there were stampers out there that had stopped using their particular brands for this very reason. So I did take this into consideration when road testing these beauties. And I'm happy to report that these are definitely a low odour stamping polish.

Strike A Pose

Early May has always been really busy for me, personally. Three close family birthdays within the first week of May, two of which are that of my beautiful boys who turned 2 and 11 this year; there's always been lots to plan and organise. So when I was asked to be the session tech for an editorial in shooting, I knew that the beginning of May was going to be even busier than usual, and I actually could not wait!

After nail blogger B Nailed To Perfection posted some totally awesome swatches of our We Heart Nails UK glitters, I was contacted through Instagram by stylist Lauren Rose and asked if our glitters and I would like to join the all girl team that would be heading up a super special photo shoot incorporating a pastel, holographic and iridescent theme throughout. I jumped at the chance and so began preparing for my first ever photo shoot.

The Art of Nail Stamping Part Two

Stamper, stamper on the nail, which one stamper should we all hail?

In my last blog post I talked about the frustrations of nail stamping. From the conversations I've had with a few techs since my last post, they too have struggled or are currently struggling with stamping. It's nice to know you're not alone, eh?

The Art of Nail Stamping (Sort Of) Part 1

My first venture in to the world of nail stamping was an epic fail. Not that I knew that at the time I was spending an obscene amount of money on new stamping plates some 3 years ago. I mean really I thought, how hard could this be? You apply polish to the plate, scrape, press your stamper down, apply it to the nail and hey presto! This would be a doddle.

Oh, if only.

Glitter Rockstar Application With Nail Polish

I don't know about you, but gel polish has totally spoilt me as a nail tech over the past few years. How easy is it  to create blinged up, full on glittertastic nails for clients? Such a simple application of pressing glitter in to the cured, tacky inhibition layer, the application of two gel polish top coats et voila!

There is nothing quite like a client asking for rockstar nails with nail polish to make your heart drop to my knees; the mess, the wasted glitter and knowing that more than likely they were not going to last as well as a gel polish rockstar. Try as I might to convince my clients to upgrade to a rockstar gel polish manicure or pedicure, their hearts were set on having nail polish. And it's understandable, maybe they only wanted it for the weekend or the colour went perfectly with their outfit for an upcoming wedding but not for their Monday morning board room meeting or just the general consensus that nail polish on toes is like an impenetrable shield that would survive an apocalypse.

We Heart Glitter

They say a picture paints a thousand words, and I think you'll agree that this one certainly does. This beautiful manicure was created by Kat from OASIS Nails & Beauty using one of our new holographic glitters, Perfect Storm. Perfect Storm is a stunning slate grey holographic, and one of my all time favourites.

Of course I would say that I hear you say, I'm trying to sell them to you. Well, yes  I am, but let me tell you why you need these glitters in your life.

We Have Lift Off!

Blog, they said. It will be easy, they said. I can hand on heart say it is anything but. I have a tendency to waffle, as my friends and family can attest to, and I can tell you I've sat at this desk for well over 2 hours now, trying to think of an engaging first post to share with you.
