They say a picture paints a thousand words, and I think you'll agree that this one certainly does. This beautiful manicure was created by Kat from OASIS Nails & Beauty using one of our new holographic glitters, Perfect Storm. Perfect Storm is a stunning slate grey holographic, and one of my all time favourites.
Of course I would say that I hear you say, I'm trying to sell them to you. Well, yes I am, but let me tell you why you need these glitters in your life.
We Heart Nails UK holographic glitter comes in 24 stunning shades; from pinks, to reds, to oranges, to blues, to greens, to black, to grey, to silvers and golds, you have a myriad of colours to choose from.
Our holographic glitters are a super fine .004 hex, cosmetic grade glitter and they are also solvent resistant. They can be used over gel polish, nail polish and encapsulated in acrylic and hard gel.
You can create a mix and match kit, meaning you can purchase colours singularly, or you can buy the entire entourage of sparkles in one go. Our full collection is available at a special offer price point and by purchasing the full kit you also qualify for free UK delivery or a shipping discount when posted internationally. We also have the all important MSDS.
Now that the advertising spiel is out the way, let's get down to business. Of course none of those details are to be sniffed at, you want to know what you can expect after all, but as a nail technician myself, all the marketing in the world doesn't maketh the product. The product makeths the product.
When I first started using glitter to create rockstar nails 5 years ago, it didn't cross my mind that I had to use the right type of glitter. Venturing over to Hobby Craft one Saturday afternoon, I snapped up all the craft glitters I could find, and made my way to the checkout feeling pretty pleased with myself.
For all my training it didn't occur to me that craft glitter wasn't the type of glitter I should be using. It's just glitter, right? I didn't think to check if it was solvent resistant; you get the glitter, you stick it on and top coat, right? Wrong. I should have been using a cosmetic grade glitter that was safe to use on the body, or nail in this case. I should have been using a solvent resistant glitter as I was, well, using solvents. I certainly didn't want an unholy mess of colour bleeding or curling particles on my hands, or my clients come to think of it. And then there was the size to consider. Size does matter in the glitter world! Oh my, have you ever used a chunky craft glitter and tried to get that super smooth finish? With the amount of top coats I was applying, my colour pops were beginning to resemble a doorstop as opposed to a spectacularly sparkly impression of my work, there to entice my clients digits in to sporting the ultimate blinged up nail.
Thankfully, I then discovered Lecente. A beautifully sparkly, .008 hex cosmetic grade glitter. My craft glitter wedges went in to the bin faster than Usain Bolt running the 100 metre sprint and I purchased my first ever collection of real nail art glitters, which in turn inspired me a number of years later to launch the We Heart Nails UK holographic glitter range.
So why choose our holographic glitters?
Well, from the image above you can see just how super fine the particles are. This makes for great full coverage application, without seeing your base colour underneath. Not everyone has every colour of the rainbow in their polish or gel polish stash either, so even a simple nude base still gives you that true pop of colour from each glitter. Being as they are a .004 hex glitters they are perfect for fades and with very little blending and effort required, you can create a seamless ombre look.
Currently on the market there are metallics, iridescents and holographic glitters to name but a few. We opted for our first collection to be holographic because we love the full on multi faceted appearance that seems to just dance in the light. Have you ever used a bog standard black glitter? You have to work really hard to see that sparkle don't you? If it exists at all. Our holographic black however, flashes multi colours throughout, giving that extra depth and dimension only a holographic glitter can give.
Back in February we put a shout out on Instagram and Facebook for UK Vloggers and Bloggers to get in touch with us. We wanted honest opinions and kick ass swatches of our glitters across social media before our launch date on the 11th of March. We were contacted by a number of super talented nail techs and nail art extraordinaires and I can tell you it was tough choosing from such a pool of talent. We sent each of our chosen 5 Vloggers 24 pots of glittery gorgeousness and asked them to swatch and review our product. This was no mean feat, I am truly thankful for the time and effort each of our Vloggers and Bloggers made and are still making, to share our glitter swatches across numerous social media platforms.
So today, I want to share with you Vlogger Gelulicious' swatch video of our entire holographic collection. Gelulicious swatched not one, not two, but three pops per glitter colour. She swatched over a clear base, similar base colour and black.
One thing that all of our customers have noted is the fact that these glitters are even more gorgeous in the flesh and that the camera just cannot do them enough justice. Now, I've been tagged and sent many pictures of our glitters over the last 2 weeks and these glitters are just popping, so to hear feedback like that, I think it just shows you how super sparkly these beautiful glitters truly are!
Well that just about wraps up my bumper glitter post today. Thanks so much for reading, I'd love to hear your thoughts so feel free to post your comments and questions below or email We Heart Nails UK direct. Also head on over to Gelulicious' YouTube channel and hit subscribe if you've not already done so. I would also like to say another big thank you to Kat from OASIS Nails & Beauty for sharing her beautiful client photos with us. Laura x
